The Cadenthite Chronicles: A Tale of Conflict and Discovery

Untitled

In the annals of Eldorian history, few periods are as tumultuous and transformative as the Age of Eldoria, particularly the events surrounding the discovery and subsequent conflict over Cadenthite. As we reflect on this era, it becomes evident that the discovery of Cadenthite in 475 AE (Age of Eldoria) by a wandering knight in the Whispering Mountains was more than just a chance find; it was a catalyst for a series of events that would forever change the landscape of Eldoria.

The following year, 476 AE, saw rapid developments. The formation of the Eldorian Mining Guild marked the beginning of a focused effort to extract Cadenthite, a material with properties so unique that it drew the attention of both the Council of Knights and the Elder Dragons. This unprecedented situation led to the first diplomatic meeting between these two powerful factions, culminating in the establishment of the Cadenthite Treaty.

This treaty, allowing limited mining under draconic supervision, seemed a harmonious solution. However, peace was short-lived as rogue knights violated the treaty, leading to the first minor skirmish with dragon sentinels by the year's end.

The potential of Cadenthite became fully apparent in early 477 AE when a legendary blacksmith crafted the first full suit of Cadenthite armor.

Its immense potential was both a marvel and a harbinger of conflict. The discovery of a massive Cadenthite deposit later that year added fuel to the fire, leading to a mining rush and further straining the treaty.

The assassination of a prominent dragon elder by an unknown knight and the formation of the Cadenthite Vanguard, an elite knight force, only escalated the tensions.

The increased illegal mining activities had deeply angered the dragons, resulting in more frequent confrontations. The dragons, feeling the growing transgressions of humans, held a Great Conclave in 477 AE to discuss their response.

The situation reached a boiling point in 477 AE, with both sides amassing forces at their respective strongholds, signaling an impending war. Peace negotiations failed, leading to the official start of the War of Cadenthite in Sep 477 AE with the Battle of Glimmering Peak.
