- What is Cadenthea all about?
Cadenthea is a stamp collecting game. In order to earn stamps you complete habits and tasks in the real world. For example everytime you make your bed you earn a new stamp.
Choose between Habits, To Do’s and then assign rewards for yourself to purchase
- Why stamps? What makes this theme unique in the card game world?
I really loved the stamps in Neopets and Marapets and there is a lot of card games out there. The thing that struck me most was the misprinted stamps, so that has served as the inspiration for Cadenthea.
The unique thing about stamps is all of the various different variations and I like how they represent a time and a place in the real world, so they have a certain element of history and nostalgia to them. We are definitely going to try and incorporate these elements into the stamps.
2. The Inspiration Behind Cadenthea:
- What sparked the idea for a stamp-collecting card game?
I have always loved collecting cards in games like Magic, Pokemon and Hearthstone. It was frustrating to me though as a 35 year old that I didn’t have any way to really play these games anymore! The one thing I have to do a lot of though is jobs, so I thought why not morph the collecting element that I love of games into my life. Now everytime I make the bed, or do the dishes, or fold the washing, it’s awesome, I still get the same feeling that I get when I am collecting cards, but now I get to build out my stamp collection.
- Are there personal experiences or stories tied to this inspiration?
Another key influence is Neopets and Marapets and the epic stamp collecting and book collecting that those games have. I absolutely loved filling out my album. The only thing is now, with all the retired stamps, it’s extremely expensive and difficult to collect stamps. This is something that we are going to keep in mind when we are creating Cadenthea.
3. How to Play Cadenthea:
- What's the main objective of the game?
The main objective of the game is to collect
as many stamps as you can. You collect stamps by completing tasks or habits in the real world.
- What is the Score?
The card above has a score of 6.8/10. This is made up as weighted average of the 4 factors that we currently have. Offset X and Y are how far off centre the card is printed. An offset x and y value of 10 would mean that the card is perfectly centred. Opacity of 0 would make the card slightly blurry and Hue would change the colour. This mechanic is designed to represent the mechanic of printing stamps in the real world.
In the image above you can see the left hand stamp has pretty good offset numbers showing that the stamp has been printed well and the stamp on the right is offset, which means you can’t even see the planet!
The score that you get for this card contributes to your total score for the leaderboard. The thing about this leaderboard is that it only counts one version of the card in your album, so in this case even though you have two Knights Scholars, you would only be able to select one for your album. The one on the left would grant you 8.1 points and the one on the right would grant you 5 points. Now the battle is on to see who can have the most perfect collection of stamps from around Cadenthea.
- How many players can play at once?
Currently Cadenthea is a single player game. Over time we are going to add in more features to make it interesting for friends to play together, but we wanted to first and foremost ensure that this is a fun game for you to play by yourself.
- What's the estimated playtime for a typical game?

6. Engaging Features and Challenges:
- Are there special events or challenges players can participate in?
We have added some tasks initially to get you started, for example making your bed. If you complete that 5 times then you earn an additional 5 gold. Gold can be used in the shop to buy booster packs. Buying booster packs gets you 5 additional stamps with one guaranteed to be at least a rare or higher.

8. Conclusion and Future Plans:
- What's next for Cadenthea? Are there expansions or updates in the pipeline?
